I wondered many times for downloading torrent files without using torrent clients. Visited many sites and didnt found good sites to cache a torrent file, but lately i have found a great website named ‘seedr.cc’ which provides both reliable connection and storage capacity. I feel very much great using this site fore caching the torrent files.

Many caching sites provide torrenting facilities but storage wise seedr.cc is the most splendid site i have ever used. It provides 2.5 GB of storage while we first use, after that it goes on increasing when we refer a friend. Also we can increase storage by posting it on twitter,blogs and youtube.

Open any torrent site
Search the torrent which you want to download (eg. I have searched a movie named Escapee)
Select the torrent and copy the download link

Now open a next tab and go to website: https://www.seedr.cc
Paste the download link in the textbox before ‘+’ sign
Click on ‘+’
If it asks to log in before download, then use your any email id to sign up
Now wait for 60+ seconds until the link appears.
After 60 seconds, you will get the download link.. just copy it and paste it in our favorite Download Manager finally you are done.

Malicious Software Poses as Video from a Facebook Friend

A piece of malicious software masquerading as a Facebook video is hijacking users’ Facebook accounts and Web browsers, according to independent Italian security researchers who have been investigating the situation.

The malware appears as a link in an e-mail or Facebook message telling people that they have been tagged in a Facebook post. When users go to Facebook and click the link, they are sent to a separate Web site and prompted to download a browser extension or plug-in to watch a video, said one of the researchers, Carlo De Micheli, in a telephone interview on Monday.

Once that plug-in is downloaded, the attackers can access everything stored in the browser, including accounts with saved passwords. Many people commonly save e-mail, Facebook and Twitter login data in their browsers, so the attackers can masquerade as the victim and tap those accounts.

Mr. De Micheli said the malicious software has been spreading at a rate of about 40,000 attacks an hour and has so far affected more than 800,000 people using Google’s popular Chrome browser. It is replicating itself primarily by hijacking victims’ Facebook accounts and reaching out to their friends on the social network. A user hit by the malicious software cannot easily remove it, since it blocks access to the browser settings that allow it to be removed and also blocks access to many sites that offer virus removal software.

A spokeswoman for Google, which makes the Chrome browser, said the company was aware of the attack and has already disabled the browser extensions that allowed it.

“When we detect items containing malware or learn of them through reports, we remove them from the Chrome Web Store and from active Chrome instances,” said the spokeswoman, Veronica Navarrete, in a statement. “We’ve already removed several of these extensions, and are continuing to improve our automated systems to help detect them even faster.”

Facebook said that its security systems had also detected the attack and it was working to clear the malicious links.

“In the meantime, we have been blocking people from clicking through the links and have reported the bad browser extensions to the appropriate parties,”  Michael Kirkland, a Facebook spokesman, said in a statement. “We believe only a small percentage of our users were affected by this issue, and we are currently working with them to ensure that they’ve removed the bad browser extension.”

However, Mr. De Micheli said the attackers, who appear to be of Turkish origin based on comments embedded in the software, were adapting the malicious code and had already found a way to target users of Firefox, another popular browser.

This is not the first instance of an attack through a browser extension, which is a bit of software that allows a Web browser to perform specific functions, much like an app does for a smartphone. But this attack appears to be one of the most extensive to use the technology.

“A few years ago, you’d tell your friends, don’t click on attachments,” Mr. De Micheli said. Now, the same advice applies to browser add-ons, he said.

Mr. De Micheli said that browser makers should do a better job of warning users that installing a plug-in, like installing a smartphone app, can give the software access to a wide variety of personal information. “People are used to clicking ‘accept,’” he said.

Mr. De Micheli is an independent security researcher who, along with several other Italian colleagues, has done extensive work tracking unseemly activity on social networks, including the underground market in fake Twitter followers. In the case of the malicious browser extensions, he is working with Andrea Stroppa, Danny di Stefano and Matt Hofman.

Justin O’Kelly, a spokesman for Mozilla, said that users should make sure that they are only installing legitimate software from well-known Web sites that they trust. “Users should be wary of scams or suspicious messages asking them to install software from an unknown site,” he said in a statement.

What Does Déjà vu Mean.. why it happens

Have you ever experienced a sudden feeling of familiarity while in a completely new place? Or the feeling you’ve had the exact same conversation with someone before?

This feeling of familiarity is, of course, known as déjà vu (a French term meaning “already seen”) and it’s reported to occur on an occasional basis in 60-80% of people. It’s an experience that’s almost always fleeting and it occurs at random.

So what is responsible for these feelings of familiarity?

Despite coverage in popular culture, experiences of déjà vu are poorly understood in scientific terms. Déjà vu occurs briefly, without warning and has no physical manifestations other than the announcement: “I just had déjà vu!”

Many researchers propose that the phenomenon is a memory-based experience and assume the memory centres of the brain are responsible for it.

Memory systems

The medial temporal lobes are vital for the retention of long-term memories of events and facts. Certain regions of the medial temporal lobes are important in the detection of familiarity, or recognition, as opposed to the detailed recollection of specific events.

It has been proposed that familiarity detection depends on rhinal cortex function, whereas detailed recollection is linked to the hippocampus.

The randomness of déjà vu experiences in healthy individuals makes it difficult to study in an empirical manner. Any such research is reliant on self-reporting from the people involved.

Glitches in the matrix

A subset of epilepsy patients consistently experience déjà vu at the onset of a seizure – that is, when seizures begin in the medial temporal lobe. This has given researchers a more experimentally controlled way of studying déjà vu.

Epileptic seizures are evoked by alterations in electrical activity in neurons within focal regions of the brain. This dysfunctional neuronal activity can spread across the whole brain like the shock waves generated from an earthquake. The brain regions in which this electrical activation can occur include the medial temporal lobes.

Electrical disturbance of this neural system generates an aura (a warning of sorts) of déjà vu prior to the epileptic event.

By measuring neuronal discharges in the brains of these patients, scientists have been able to identify the regions of the brain where déjà vu signals begin.

It has been found that déjà vu is more readily induced in epilepsy patients through electrical stimulation of the rhinal cortices as opposed to the hippocampus. These observations led to the speculation that déjà vu is caused by a dysfunctional electrical discharge in the brain.

These neuronal discharges can occur in a non-pathological manner in people without epilepsy. An example of this is a hyponogogic jerk, the involuntary twitch that can occur just as you are falling asleep.

It has been proposed that déjà vu could be triggered by a similar neurological discharge, resulting in a strange sense of familiarity.

Some researchers argue that the type of déjà vu experienced by temporal lobe epilepsy patients is different from typical déjà vu.

The déjà vu experienced prior to an epileptic seizure may be enduring, rather than a fleeting feeling in those who don’t have epileptic seizures. In people without epilepsy the vivid recognition combined with the knowledge that the environment is truly novel intrinsically underpins the experience of déjà vu.

Mismatches and short circuits

Déjà vu in healthy participants is reported as a memory error which may expose the nature of the memory system.Some researchers speculate that déjà vu occurs due to a discrepancy in memory systems leading to the inappropriate generation of a detailed memory from a new sensory experience.

That is, information bypasses short-term memory and instead reaches long-term memory.

This implies déjà vu is evoked by a mismatch between the sensory input and memory-recalling output. This explains why a new experience can feel familiar, but not as tangible as a fully recalled memory.

Other theories suggest activation of the rhinal neural system, involved in the detection of familiarity, occurs without activation of the recollection system within the hippocampus. This leads to the feeling of recognition without specific details.

Related to this theory, it was proposed that déjà vu is a reaction of the brain’s memory systems to a familiar experience. This experience is known to be novel, but has many recognisable elements, albeit in a slightly different setting. An example? Being in a bar or restaurant in a foreign country that has the same layout as one you go to regularly at home.

Even more theories exist regarding the cause of déjà vu. These span from the paranormal – past livesalien abduction and precognitive dreams – to memories formed from experiences that are not first-hand (such as scenes in movies).

So far there is no simple explanation as to why déjà vu occurs, but advances in neuroimaging techniques may aid our understanding of memory and the tricks our minds seem to play on us.
